1. How do I become an adult learner?
 

Contact the Literacy Council of Sarasota here, call 941-955-0421, email sbergstrom@sarasotaliteracy.org, or walk in and see us at 1750 17th Street Suite K-3 in Sarasota, Florida. Afterwards, you can schedule a learner intake with one of our staff members who will then explain your different options.

 

2. How do I become a tutor?
 

Contact the Literacy Council of Sarasota here, call 941-955-0421 or email sbergstrom@sarasotaliteracy.org. Afterwards, you can register to attend one of our ProLiteracy certified tutor training sessions, then choose a learner.

 

3. As a tutor, what is my commitment?

 

Tutors are encouraged to meet with their learners at least 1 time per week for 60-90 minutes.

 

4. Where do learners and tutors meet?

 

Learners and tutors meet one-on-one in public locations at least once a week. Most often, this is at a nearby Sarasota County Public Library.

 
5. Is there a cost?

 

Yes, we request a modest one-time $25 registration fee for tutors, and a modest one-time $10 registration fee for adult learners.

 

6. Are there other ways to donate?
